Fragrance Story

Some fragrances are born under a fortunate constellation, at the very moment when the world tilts into modernity. Rêve d’Or was imagined in the auspicious year of 1889, just as the Eiffel Tower rose into the Parisian sky, Europe turned toward dreams from the East.

It is to this dreamlike vision that the perfume owes its creation, blending flowers, fruits, and balms with the richness of an invisible palace. 

The hand of perfumer Georges Darzens, a bold and innovative spirit, was guided not by reality but by the Orient of fairy tales. He introduced aldehydes into the formula— for the first time in perfume history giving the trail a singular, almost unreal vibration.

Rêve d’Or first presents itself as a burst of light: pink pepper, lemon, and bergamot shine like the first notes of a lavish prelude, awakening the senses like a dawn in the Orient.

Then, the fragrance blossoms into a fruity, mysterious heart where raspberry and blackcurrant, softly entwined, meet noble saffron. Finally, the perfume lingers in a warm and caressing breath: deep cedar and discreet musk—a base that evokes both the wood of secret chests and sun-kissed skin.

Inspiration

The dreamlike world of Rêve d’Or explores fantasies of fortune, luck, and opulence. Named after a distant waltz and encased in a bottle designed in 1925 by Art Deco masters Süe & Mare and Georges Chevalier, then creative director at Baccarat, Rêve d’Or is more than a perfume. It is meant for those who dream—and know their dreams are made of gold.
