The magic of cyanotype… This ancient and artistic photographic process brings light and ink into interaction, leaving an almost unreal imprint on paper, like a memory. In the hands of Maxime Siau, cyanotype marks the passage of time and captures the image of a memory. An image that slowly emerges on paper, shaped by light and time, like a trace left behind.
Like Marcel Proust’s famous madeleine, Blue Madeleine reveals what time leaves behind through our memories. A taste, a fragrance, and the past unfolds, emotions resurface. Through this encounter between art and perfumery, cyanotype and olfactive memory engage in a dialogue around the same imprint: that of memory.
Inspiration
The olfactory expression of a souvenir during an afternoon tea at the villa, blending madeleine and black tea.
